EMBARK's ADA Administrator Honored with Distinguished Lynn Institute Award

EMBARK's Mobility Management Administrator/ADA Coordinator, Dr. Marilyn Dillon, has been honored by the Lynn Institute for Healthcare Research and the Healthy Hopeful Community Collaborative for her work to improve community health and mobility options in Oklahoma City, especially for vulnerable populations. The Lynn Legacy, Community Champion award, was presented to Dr. Dillon at the 'institute's 2022 Legacy Luncheon on Thursday, Aug. 25, in Oklahoma City.

"Dr. Dillon is so deserving of this honor because of her hard work every day to remove mobility barriers that Oklahoma City residents face, "EMBARK Assistant Director of Operations Jesse Rush said. "She truly has a heart for serving the transit-dependent populations in our community by improving access to employment, health care, and other life necessities."

After joining the City of Oklahoma City in 2012 as a Budget Analyst, Dillon was promoted to Audit Manager before moving to EMBARK in 2016.Since joining EMBARK, Dillon has served as the Mobility Management Administrator and ADA Coordinator. In addition to her important work in Mobility Management, Dillon has launched the EMBARK Well Senior Health and Wellness Transportation Program, the award-winning CLIMB Ride Program, and coordinated mobility partnerships with the Palomar Family Justice Center, Areawide Aging Agency, and others. 'EMBARK's Mobility Team is dedicated to exploring innovative access and mobility services to improve human service outcomes. In 2021, she was named the Oklahoma Transit 'Association's Transit Professional of the Year.

Dillon is always finding ways to improve and serve the community. Dillon serves on multiple committees, the 'Mayor's Committee on Disability Concerns, the Oklahoma City Healthy Hopeful Community Collaborative Advisory Council, and multiple coordinating coalitions and advisory councils.

The Lynn Legacy, Community Champion Award, honors individuals and organizations who are visionary leaders, committed to creating and sustaining healthy, hopeful communities, devoted to those in great need, generous with time and resources, collaborative in spirit, and dedicated to creating a legacy that will last a lifetime. Founded in 1997, the Lynn Institute is an Oklahoma City nonprofit organization that works to develop sustainable plans to improve the health of neighborhoods, special groups, and disease-specific situations.
