Downtown garages now accept payment through their mobile parking app – Flowbird.
March 3, 2022
Officials with EMBARK announced today that downtown garages now accept payment through the City's mobile parking app – Flowbird. With this enhancement, downtown visitors will be able to find and reserve daily (24-hour) parking in any of EMBARK's downtown parking facilities, including the Scissortail surface lot.
The Flowbird app launched in Oklahoma City in 2020, allowing users to pay for on-street parking with their mobile devices. By expanding mobile payment options to its other parking facilities, customers are encouraged to park off-street and enjoy the convenience of safe, well-lit, and award-winning urban art. Parking off-street has its benefits with the addition of the OKC Streetcar's Park Here, Ride Free program. All who park in EMBARK garages can use the streetcar to complete trips and explore OKC's downtown districts.
"Since its launch last year, Flowbird has been used by over 10,000 customers to reserve and pay for on-street parking," said Jason Ferbrache, EMBARK Administrator. "The mobile app offers an intuitive platform that allows customers to filter by various categories, including events. By adding garages to the already successful app, EMBARK is enhancing the convenience and access to downtown's thriving districts with expanded parking and mobility options."
Customers can use the Flowbird app at the Arts District Garage, Century Center Garage, Convention Center Garage, Sheridan Walker Garage, and the Scissortail surface lot. The system brings together on- and off-street parking to improve the downtown parking experience.
